AVEVA Insight is a core component of the AVEVA Connect digital transformation hub. It's the “doing platform” for the operations lifecycle and enables users to do their jobs more effectively.
It helps drive efficiency and performance improvements through better visibility of process activities by surfacing information from multiple data sources for better, faster, smarter operational decisions.
The latest release to the software introduces simplified alert management, additional production context, and enhanced visualisation capabilities.
Since the introduction of multi-tag alerting in May 2019, AVEVA have continued to evolve Insight's condition management capabilities in the cloud.
This latest release makes it easier for users to view and manage their alerts.
You can now associate an alert with an asset (or location) which you've specified within the system. This allows you to quickly group together alerts on related assets to manage them more easily.
The ‘Link to Asset’ field will be auto-populated based on the tags selected for the alert. However, it is configurable, so you can choose to associate these alerts to the assets where they make most sense.
When you view it from the alerts page, the Asset column shows the asset to which each alert is linked. You can now also filter the alerts list by column, making it much easier to find and modify alerts – particularly as the system becomes larger.
In addition, solution administrators can now manage the alerts configured within the solution, irrespective of who created them. Allowing both the administrator, and the original creator, to configure the alerts provides simpler management and a more sustainable solution as organisations evolve.
For the Insight operational user, improvements have been made to provide additional context around production data.
The OEE KPIs at the top right-hand side of the page now clearly indicate that these KPIs are for the current production run. The actual production rate for the active production run on the Production events interface has also been added.
Each of these shows values while the production run is active and is removed once complete – helping to avoid any potential confusion.
For utilisation events, the length of the comment field has been increased, so you can now add much more information. Allowing you to capture all the necessary context needed for the future.
The csv export for the utilisation analysis has also been improved to include the equipment name column, so that all the relevant information is captured, allowing you to perform further analysis.
To provide additional context to all users some minor improvements have also been made to the visualisation capabilities within AVEVA Insight.
For example, when plotting tags on maps, you can now add the current state value next to the historic values. This gives you at-a glance understanding of what is happening, and what has happened, in your operations.
To make it easier for operators to quickly assess current states on any chart type, analog graphics now format based on the number size e.g.
